The man who has been instrumental in leading Lotus to become a global performance brand, who captained the company in its most successful sales year in a decade and the man leading Lotus into its 80th year, was welcomed in Dubai to captain the new era of Lotus in the Middle East.
With over two decades of experience in the automobile industry under his belt, Matt Windle worked with Daewoo, Tesla and Zenos, before beginning his 5+ year tenure with Lotus.
Starting his career with Lotus as Chief Engineer Body, Windle steadily climbed the ranks and catapulted into the Managing Director role in January 2021. In the meantime, he has been widely praised for transforming the well-known UK sports car brand, Lotus, into a global performance brand.
It’s no secret that Lotus has been accelerating its growth in the Middle East. In 2021, the sports car brand announced it established its regional office structure within the UAE to cover both the Middle East and the Asia Pacific. One year later, Lotus Cars held the inauguration of its showroom and HQ, and to mark the celebration, Matt Windle dropped in to tour the facilities.
Lotus Cars saw huge growth in 2021. Sales jumped by 24%, the best performance in a decade, and the UAE dealer has been the No. 1 in Lotus Car Sales worldwide for Q1 2022, thanks to the Evija hypercar and Emira sportscar. With the UAE seeing huge momentum, the vehicle touted as the new Lotus icon was presented at the showroom inauguration, The Eletre. Ready for consumers in 2024, the all-new and all-electric Hyper-SUV is worthy of your attention.
“With the support of our partners Adamas Motors, the Middle East has become a major market for Lotus globally. I have been very impressed by the facilities of Adamas across the region, and the business’s dedication to customer service and its excellent presentation of our brand. With the arrival of both the Evija hypercar and Emira sportscar imminent, I am very excited to open this fantastic new showroom in Dubai and look forward to many customers across the region making use of the fantastic services here in support of a new generation of Lotus high-performance cars.” -Matt Windle, speaking at Lotus inauguration.
With Windle at the helm, Lotus is showing no signs of slowing down. The iconic brand turns 80 in 2028, and it has claimed 3 pillars as part of its transformational targets: transforming the business, revolutionizing the product range and delivering results every year.
Expect to see more of this auspicious brand on SZR in the coming years.
