The Dubai Autodrome echoed with the thunderous roar of classic racecar engines as the third edition of the Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival unfolded over the weekend. This celebration of motor racing’s glory years showcased a symphony of speed and skill across four racing categories.
The ‘’70s-themed motorsports event brought back some amazing memories with period race cars and legends who raced them. Let’s start with the Dubai GP race winners of the weekend:

- Kyle Tilley and Nicolas Manassian (1965 Ford GT40)
Formula One 70s+ Category Results

Le Mans 80s+ Category Results
- Iconic Racing’s 1990 Porsche 962 on Saturday

Apart from these four categories, the historic motorsport event also included demonstration runs of Formula 1 cars from the 1990s. These V12 screamers were driven by Stefan Johansson and Nicholas Prost.
Also, Gulf Historic Dubai GP fans were treated to a nostalgic sight as four-time Formula One World Champion Alain Prost raced his 1991 Ferrari 643.
Dubai Classics
The new Dubai Classics category added a touch of automotive wonder, showcasing Dubai’s rarest and most captivating classic cars in two adrenaline-pumping demonstration runs. This dazzling array included a Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, a 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS, and a 1993 Lamborghini Diablo.
Entertainment At Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival
Beyond the screeching tyres and adrenaline-pumping races, fans and guests soaked up a ‘70s-themed atmosphere of unbridled entertainment. The festival-style paddock, filled with music, hospitality, and intimate access to teams and drivers, provided a unique motor racing experience. The Apex Garden offered stunning panoramic views and a vibrant atmosphere.
Frédéric Fatien, Founder of GP Extreme, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success. Drawing over 16,000 attendees, the Gulf Historic Dubai GP Revival 2023 marked the biggest and best edition to date.
He further stated, “I would like to express my gratitude to our incredibly supportive partners, drivers, and teams who make this event what it is – without them, it simply would not be possible. To the thousands of guests that joined us over these three days, we can’t wait to welcome you to more historic racing events in 2024.”
As the curtains fell on this spectacular historic motorsport weekend, it felt as if someone had turned the clock back. Fans soaked up the nostalgia of retro racecars and re-lived the glorious era of racing.
